The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems and supporting complex enterprise environments.Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Location: Annapolis, MD (Locals Preferred) Work Mode: Hybrid Employment Type: Contract (C2C), Full time Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, H1B, Work PermitResponsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers across dev, test, and prod environmentsPerform upgrades, patching, and security hardeningMonitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiencyDevelop automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or PythonConfigure and maintain Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and ecosystem toolsCollaborate with security teams to maintain system complianceManage storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutionsSupport application teams on Linux-based deployment best practicesMaintain detailed documentation of systems and proceduresProvide on-call support and resolve incidents as neededSet up NFS and mount points; configure Cron jobsPreferred Skills and Experience:Complex network systems and strong networking knowledgeExperience administering: Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems, Oracle WebLogic / Database Servers, Progress 4GL / OpenEdge, Apache Web Servers, RHEL on vSphere, Rubrik backup systems, PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVSRed Hat performance tuning and supportBackup/recovery, load balancing, disaster recovery methodologies24/7 availability and support environmentsElectronic imaging systemsApplication development background a plusRequired Skills:Ability to work both independently and in a teamStrong communication and leadership abilitiesSkilled in troubleshooting OS, database, and application-level issuesExperience interfacing with users and helpdesk for support needsProficient in backup/recovery strategies and network configurations
